Chest is uncovered and a colourless gel is applied to analyse the sound vibrations with a transducer.
The technician moves the transducer across the various parts of the chest. The gel helps the transducer get views of the heart, its tissues and structures.
2D Echo is usually performed under the supervision of a radiologist and a cardiologist. It takes around 20 minutes to 1 hour of time to complete the test.
